The Clock is Ticking

Maria Attalla Tuesday August 22nd, 2017 Youth

Time. The indefinite continued progression of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole. If we were honest with ourselves, we would admit that we take time for granted. Everyday we are always being told not to “waste our time” or “to use our time wisely”. However, in the end we usually do waste our time.

Now you are probably thinking, so what if I waste my time? Time is very precious. The bible says that time is ticking and we have to make the best of everything and every moment we have. Ephesians 5:16 “Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days”. St. Paul is trying to point out that in everything we do we should always make the most out of it because the days are evil. St. Paul uses the word evil to indicate that time (or days) are short and go by very quickly. God gives us time to repent, show love,

remove any kind of conflict with others and to make peace. We all know that our God is a merciful God. He always gives us another chance when we do anything wrong. We need to use that time he gives us wisely. In addition, we need to use that time to prepare ourselves for judgement day. We don’t realize that time is ticking and the more days pass by, the less time we have. At any moment our time here on earth can be finished, how many of us can confidently say that we will go to heaven? We need to

understand that time is precious and to never take it for granted.

Proverbs 6:10-11 “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man”.
