Psalm 20:7 – “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”
You might be familiar with the term, “have faith in God” or “just trust in the Lord” whenever you’re encountered with trouble or hardship. However, it is easier said than done. There are many stories in the bible about people trusting in God and having an unbelievable amount of faith in Him. Stories such as, Noah building the ark or Gideon conquering the Midianites. They were simple people that had unimaginable faith. Nonetheless, they still had their doubts. In this day and age, we face many issues that question our faith. Whether it is friends that have a bad influence on us or being exposed to the provocative content in the media, our faith is consistently being attacked, and thus can be weakened. We also may feel like we have no one to help us or guide us when we encounter trouble. However, we have a large and strong support system that is lead by God Himself.
The verse Psalm 20:7, discusses how many people around the Old Testament time would trust in materialistic things to help them get through hardships. However, David addresses that God is the one you need to trust and confide in, not your possessions. You might think that trusting God for everything is silly and unrealistic. But God cares about every little thing you do. He cares about your feelings and your thoughts. He does not wish anxiety or worry on you. He wants you to be successful and thriving with joy. He wants you to come to him for help and guidance, but don’t confuse that with God waiting for you to come. He wants you to choose him, not him to force you. Whenever you are nervous, anxious, worried, upset and/or happy, he wants you to go to him and trust him. Trust his plan and his workings and to know that everything happens for a reason. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Overall, God has a plan for you and you need to have faith in him. Regardless of how bizarre or complicated the things you encounter, always keep in mind that God’s works are blessed and mighty. He knows what he is doing and he does not wish anything bad for you, for he loves you.
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
