Rite of Liturgy of The Word

Pauline: The Deacons Then chant the hymns of Pauline referring to the apostles when they breached the gospel everywhere “psalm 19:4″ then one of the deacons reads the Pauline starting as following ” Paul the servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, appointed to the Gospel of God. A reading from the ………… of our teacher Paul, may his blessings be with amen. and end it as following ” The grace of God the Father be with you all amen.
Catholic: After the reading of the Pauline, deacons chants the hymns of catholic. and then a deacon reads the Catholic epistle starting as following ” The Catholic Epistle from the epistle of our teacher ……… may his blessing be with us amen and ends it by saying ” Do not love the world or the things in the world. The world is passing away, and its lust; but he who does the will of God abides for ever amen.
Praxis: After the deacon finishes reading the catholic, the congregation chants the Praxis response followed by the praxis hymns. Then one of the deacons read the praxis ” A reading from the acts of our fathers the pure apostles, who were invested with the grace of the Holy Spirit, may their blessing be with us all amen. and finish the praxis reading saying ” The word of the Lord shall grow, multiply, be mighty, and confirmed in the holy church of God Amen.
Synaxarion: “The Synaxarion is the classic, abridged, collection of the “Lives of the Saints,” intended for reading in the context of public worship, and to nourish the personal prayer life of the faithful. As the Church continues its journey toward its fulfillment in the Kingdom of heaven, it does not cease to grow through the addition of new saints in every generation. Thus the Synaxarion is a work which continues to be written, no so much with ink, but with the blood of the martyrs, the tears of the ascetics, and the wondrous deeds of those who love God, in every place where the word of the Gospel has resounded forth.
Gospel: The congregation chants Agios and the priest pray the litany of the Gospel. Deacons chants the psalm response after the litany of the Gospel. Then the deacon starts reading the Gospel as following :” Stand in the fear of God. Let us hear the Holy Gospel. A reading from Saint ( Mathew / Marc / Luke / John ) may his blessing be with us all amen.
After the Gospel is read, the congregation chants the Gospel response in accordance with the season. There are a lot of Gospel responses for feasts, fasting, and annual. Gospel response is determined according to the season of the year.
